What a local business website needs
A business website doesn't have to be spectacular. It has to answer three questions in a few seconds: what do you do, where, and how do I contact you.
The essentials
- What you do, in the words your customers use.
- Where: address, map and the area you cover.
- Visible contact details on every page: a phone number you can tap on mobile, email and a form.
- Opening hours, kept up to date, including holidays.
One page per service
Someone searching "alarm installation in Andorra" wants to land on a page about exactly that, not a generic homepage. Each important service deserves its own page: what it includes, who it's for and how to ask for it.
Languages
In Andorra, a business with a single-language website gives up part of its customer base. Catalan, Spanish, French and English, each language at its own address so search engines index it properly.
Fast and built for mobile
- Most visits come from phones.
- A site that's slow to load gets abandoned.
- Big buttons, readable text, a short form.
Trust
- Real photos of the premises, the team and the work, not stock images.
- Case studies and reviews from real customers.
- Company details and a legal notice.
- Answers to common questions, including the awkward ones.
One clear action
Each page should invite a specific action: call, request a quote, book. One main button, not five.
The technical side nobody sees
- HTTPS.
- Titles and descriptions for search engines.
- Structured data with business type, address and hours.
- A sitemap submitted to search engines.
- A spam-protected form.
Legal
Legal notice, privacy policy and cookie handling in line with data protection law. If the site only uses technical cookies and privacy-friendly analytics, the notice can be far simpler.
Measure
Without measurement you don't know what works. The minimum: how many visits arrive, from which searches, and how many end in a call or a form.
What you can do without
- Image carousels nobody looks at.
- Copy about "end-to-end solutions" that says nothing.
- Pop-ups on arrival.
- A blog abandoned years ago.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a blog?
Only if you'll keep it up. A few useful guides answering your customers' real questions are worth more than lots of filler posts.
Is social media enough?
Social media helps, but it isn't yours and doesn't show up in search the same way. Your website and Google listing are the foundation; social media is a complement.
